Digital Design & Type
A comprehensive study on the use of computer technology as a creative tool for artists and designers. Curriculum will focus on typography which includes the anatomy of letters, general history, type used as an object, type as shape, how to layer type with other elements. These concepts are covered throughout the entire semester and are discussed in reference to a variety of digital media. Exercises will concentrate on the development of sound typographic skills and its application to digital media. This Foundation level course prepares students for further work with computers in all areas of creative endeavor.
